ANTIQUES ON MAIN is housed in the his­toric National Bank Gold Refin­ery in Paeroa,are mak­ers of fine hand crafted fur­ni­ture in a  French coun­try style. We use fruit­woods & Euro­pean Oak. We also under­take com­mis­sions in lead­light & stained glass. Always in stock; a good range of top New Zealand stu­dio pot­tery, fur­ni­ture and kiwiana as well as Asian Ikat tex­tiles and Pacific artifacts.We are also stock­ists of a good range of New Zealand ref­er­ence books.We also have a large sec­tion of art, archi­tec­ture and antiques titles.

The refin­ery build­ing was fully com­mis­sioned, as it stands today, in 1914. The orig­i­nal 80′ x 40′ struc­ture, one of New Zealand’s first ferro-concrete build­ings, was com­pleted some­time in 1895–1896. Part of the build­ing is also our home as there were sev­eral areas built to house secu­rity staff. Our home was the refin­ery manager’s quar­ters. The build­ing has fea­tured in NZ House & Gar­den Magazine.
